RNA Series - Input/Output
The RNA is equipped with a set of general purpose programmable discrete inputs and outputs (GPIO). The RNA support a number of internal GPIO actions/functions, but they may also be utilized by the system integrator to capture or trigger events external to the RNA. Built in GPIO functions include;
Remote Client Workstation
RNA Series - DECODER
Decoder Layout Switching with GPI
- The RNA decoder GPI can be programmed to control layout switching.
- Pre-programmed layouts are automatically switched when the GPI’s are activated
- A one-to-one relationship between GPI pin and layout is possible but not necessary. Multiple GPI signals can be compounded to increase the number of possible programmable layouts. For example three GPI pins can be programmed for 8 possible layouts (23), and four pins can support sixteen layouts (24).
Remote GPIO
- The RNA GPIO can be used to trigger or capture remote discrete events.
- To trigger a remote event, the GPI pin at the remote operator workstation (decoder) is activated. This remote event is encoded and transmitted over the network to the corresponding encoder activating a GPO pin.
- The reverse is also true. The GPI event at the encoder is passed through the network to a decoder triggering a GPO pin.
- GPI to GPO pin mapping is fully programmable.
